19:00 Here at the Bye Bye Bush Bash, the crowd is dining and Jug Stompers are setting up.

19:05 The Jug Stompers just started with "Midnight Special." The crowd cheered loudly when the guys announced this was a goodbye to Bush party.

19:14 The crowd is mostly baby boomers. There's much chatter as they enjoy their meals. I think they are anticipating the hardcore bush bashing.

19:18 Bowtie said they've rewritten a number of their songs to cram in as much witty satire as possible in five minutes.

19:19 "White House for sale or rent" Nice.

19:31 The Firlefanz Puppets have just taken the stage. There's Cheney and a giant-eared Bush. They are popping off one-liners. The band is backing

19:34 Cheney: "What do you think about Rowe versus Wade?" Bush: "They are both good ways to get out of New Orleans." Groan...

19:45 "Eight long years and what do you get? A war in Iraq and deeper in debt." The entire audience is singing along.

19:48 The band just announced that Ruth Pelham won't be here because she got a ticket to the inauguration and is leaving on an early morning bus.

19:51 Time for a short intermission.

20:15 The band is back on stage. They'll have three guests this time, including the puppets again.

20:24 Steve is guesting on the Incredible String Band's "The Minotaur Song." Ok, we've entered hootenany territory.

20:29 Wild Bill is doing his impression of, um, I'm not sure who, but it involves lots of props, including a tangerine.

20:31 Everyone is singing along to "Hit The Road, George." Obvious, but still funny and kind of cathartic.

20:34 Time for another guest. A.C. Everson, who will do some poetry even though her "karma might take a few hits."

20:35 And there's a "ghoul grey" Bush pinata.

20:38 Her poem was "Bye Bye, Bushy."At the end of the poem, she broke open the head of the pinata and said "see, there's nothing in there."

20:41 The contents of the pinata were a bunch of refrigerator magnets of Bush standing in red flames.

20:45 Will Bill is playing an amplified typewriter as a percussion instrument. I love it.

20:53 The puppets are back.

20:58 None of those jokes were worth repeating. Groan groan.

21:19 The show's over. At the last minute, Wild Bill grabbed the Condoleeza puppet and announced that she would be playing piano there every week.
